Dulwich Hamlet comfortably saw off their arch-rivals Tooting & Mitcham United by three goals to one in a chilly Boxing Day encounter yesterday.
The game took place in Tooting’s splendid KNK Stadium, which has the kind of terracing behind the goals that Hamlet fans can only dream of.
It’s a wonderful non league ground and, frankly, rather spoilt on Tooting who only average around 250 people per game.
Hamlet’s visit brought in their biggest gate of the season, with 636 coming through the turnstiles, with at least 350 of them visiting Hamlet fans.
Dulwich quickly established their superiority, with Nathan Green firing past home keeper Pierson in the 8th minute.

The match ball rolled close to where we were standing, giving us the chance to capture this fascinating Ball & Elastic Band cameo.

Half time: 3-0 to Hamlet.
We had to abandon our attempt to get chips as the queue moved so slowly at their Caribbean-themed snack bar, called ‘The Shak.’
We can’t really complain though, given how awful the queues are at Champion Hill.

Another ground exit, complete with Space 1999 style font.
The markings on the Tooting keeper’s towel suggested he may have purloined it from a hotel.
The security were low key, if a little over-manned.
Full time: Tooting 1 Hamlet 3.
